Listen to my interview on Powerfull Living Radio!
Host Lorraine Cohen and I talked about Creating Your Website Presence.
Several weeks I wrote about doing some minor search engine optimization to my website www.peggymurrah.com Pre-SEO, I had a Google Page Rank of 3 and an Alexa ranking of 2,358,855.
My page rank comes and goes - I’m not too sure about that. But my Alexa ranking has moved up to 977,705 - that’s pretty cool!
This just goes to show what a big difference a few changes can make. All we did was add some more targeted keywords, clearer description and title in the META tags. It will be interesting to see what happens when I put some other SEO strategies in place.
Last month I posted an article about Trumba calendars as a way to allow your visitors to add your scheduled events to their own calendars. At the time of that post, there was a free and fee version. I understand now that the free version is going away…
But my friend Lisa Wilder wrote about another calendar that looks really awesome - Scrybe. It seems to have lots of bells and whistles - I’ll certainly be checking it out.
Many of my clients enthusiastically decide they’re going to start a blog. Great! But my question is… Are you going to keep up with it?
There’s nothing much worse than a stale blog (look at mine - I haven’t posted since Oct 8!). The whole point of a blog is to get a conversation started with your customers… and if you’re not saying anything, chances are they aren’t either.
I can’t say that my blog is out of sight - I have it set as my home page, so every time I open a new browser window, it’s staring at me, reminding me that I’ve been neglecting it, that I’m wasting opportunities…
So while I think blogs are great and the people who keep up with them are definitely on the right track, I don’t think blogs are for everyone. But that’s my opinion. What is yours?
